Flowsignals can be used to minimise “wrong way” driver
accidents on our Dual Carriageways and Motorways.
Flowsignals will make traffic light controlled junctions safer and
more efficient.
Safer because the drivers, cyclists and pedestrians will have clear definitive
information that they can otherwise only guess at!
Many new safety signs incorporate flashing lights to draw the attention
of the motorist. These signs could constitute a hazard in themselves
by distracting the drivers eyes from the road ahead. These
LED illuminated replicas of a conventional fixed sign still need to
be looked at directly in order to read the warning.
By only having a simple flowing light pattern Flowsignals can
be seen and recognised in the peripheral vision so they do not need to
distract drivers eyes from the road ahead but they will still get the
message.

The learning curve for flowsignals
The difficulty in introducing any new signal or sign is getting people
to understand its meaning..
Flowsignals have been designed to mimic the oncoming traffic flow. Red
for danger when used for No-entry or wrong way and amber for a warning
when used at traffic lights.
Road users are already familiar with the concept of the up/down
arrows on a traffic Priority sign indicating direction of traffic flow and
the priority, so the first time a person sees a Flowsignal they will understand
its meaning simply by the direction of traveling lights mimicking priority
traffic flow.
Key design features:
- Narrow construction can be fitted low down on sign poles without any
obstruction to pedestrians.
- Light sensor ensures the illumination level is correct day and night
(no dazzling).
- Moving double segment illumination visible at 50 metres.
- Easily seen and acknowledged by drivers even when they are distracted.
- Robust vandal resistant construction from Polycarbonate and polypropylene.
- Quick fit installation for low cost safety improvements.
